The Commercial Hotel Story

The Commercial Hotel started life as a “tin hut bottle shop”. It is the second oldest business in Casino and has occupied the Mafeking Lamp corner since it was established in 1869.

Back in the day…

…there were occasions when steers would enter the front bar during Beef Week, they were refused service due to disorderly behaviour – a truly authentic Aussie experience.

Located in the centre of town, the Commercial Hotel is full of heritage charm and strives to maintain its inherent features.

You can enjoy a refreshing drink in the beer garden, try your luck in the sports bar, or warm yourself beside the fire adjacent to the dining area on a cold night.

The Commercial Hotel is proudly “pokie free”, choosing instead to focus on great food, entertainment, and the country charm and atmosphere of our heritage building and friendly staff.

The Lamp Post Cafe

The Lamp Post Cafe & Bar is open from 7am weekdays and from 8am Saturday. Our cooked breakfast menu is available until 11am, with our cabinet stocked with tasty treats and healthy options all day (closing at 5pm weekdays and 2pm Saturday).

The Beer Garden

Enjoy the outdoors, sit under the trees for a coffee, lunch or dinner – or play table tennis over an alcoholic beverage or two.

Dog lovers can be assured that their four legged friends are welcome in our garden during all business hours.

Restaurant

A great range of pub-fair, showcasing locally grown beef from local producers in many cuts of steak, caters for functions big and small and provides off premises catering.

We love helping you celebrate! 18th to 80th (and beyond) parties, work get togethers, end of season celebrations, hens nights, bucks parties and everything in between.

The Sports Bar
